Bene, questo post avrà molti edit nei prossimi giorni, spero. 
Ne aggiungo subito uno importante: la Mark III si potrà acquistare solo a partire da fine marzo 2012. C’è da pensare che, per averne una senza scavalcare la fila, bisognerà attendere metà aprile, e almeno fine maggio per vedere abbassarsi il prezzo… ah, già il prezzo! 3.500 US$, circa 2.650 euro al cambio attuale. E solo per il corpo macchina. Ma sbaviamo, sbaviamo lo stesso. La Mark III, OMG!!!!
Uno dei migliori articoli che abbia letto sinora (3 marzo) è quello di Vincent Laforet: articolo critico, preciso, non reverenziale né ostile. Qui. Il punto che mi vede più d’accordo è quello sulla mancanza dell’uscita HDMI pura. “No clean HDMI out… why…why…why? (not!?)”

Ti sei documentato sul booktrailer: sai cos’è, sai come si fa, sai che ne hai bisogno.
Ti sei chiesto: “a chi posso affidarmi per fare un booktrailer?”
Hai cercato in giro, hai chiesto a chi ne ha avuto uno intrigante, hai studiato. Ora sai chi rivolgerti oppure sai come fartelo da solo senza farti male.
Hai cercato informazioni per valutare l’effetto del booktrailer sulle vendite. Forse hai capito che l’effetto non si misura con numeri, ma con qualcosa di meno concreto, eppure più comprensibile. Il migliore effetto di un booktrailer non è l’aumento delle vendite, ma la creazione di una FAMA. Sì, il maggior beneficio del booktrailer sta nell’incidere il tuo nome nella mente dello spettatore. Se il tuo nome sarà associato a cose belle, o a una grassa risata, in larga misura dipende da te: scegli un videomaker compente e sacrifica la settimana bianca, o vai al risparmio pur di occupare spazio su youtube.
Ok, hai un po’ di certezze. È tempo di complicarti la vita, e provvedo volentieri.
Booktrailer o docutrailer?
Il booktrailer comunemente noto è anche tristemente inflazionato. Chiunque, ma proprio chiunque ne sa fare uno. Due schermate in powerpoint e poi si esporta in formato quicktime. Oppure si prende un po’ di testo a caso dal libro, lo si fa ruotare, nuotare, zompettare, piroettare, contorno di stelline e fritto misto di esplosioni, ed ecco un booktrailer spettacolare che del libro non dice una beneamata mazza.
Il docutrailer è un booktrailer con un nome diverso, ma soprattutto con idee radicalmente diverse alla sua base. Ci si DOCUMENTA, porco giuda, su ciò che si vuol fare, non si impasta una massa scotta di luoghi comuni e avanzi di mensa fatta passare per costosa nouvelle cuisine.
Si LEGGE il romanzo… beh, lo si può fare perché magari si è passato un gran pezzo di vita a LEGGERE PER PIACERE e non per lavoro.
Si CAPISCE il romanzo. Ci si sintonizza con la sua anima. Si cammina al suo passo. Si cerca di catturarne uno scatto che resti impresso a chiunque.
Si scrive una SCENEGGIATURA. Due frasi che scorrono in stile Guerre Stellari? No, grazie: un testo retto da una IDEA.
Si elabora un PIANO DI PRODUZIONE. Ok, non possiamo permetterci una nave carica di pirati armati sino ai denti, ma… mettiamo quell’attore con quelle rughe così belle in un angolo della città vecchia, con una lucerna e una bottiglia di vino, e facciamogli raccontare la sua storia.
Si fa tutto con AMORE, insomma. E con INTELLIGENZA.
Il booktrailer è sommerso dal pressapochismo, dalla vanagloria, dall’incompetenza, dalla sbruffonaggine? Allora noi non facciamo più booktrailer, facciamo docutrailer, e, già che ci siamo, sputiamo nel piatto in cui è impossibile mangiare senza provare conati di vomito: cari signori, non è pubblicità la nostra, è arte. Disturba, ma non in quel senso.

Kodak declared bankruptcy this week. Legislation to ban digital cameras could have saved this company, a “jobs creator,” pillar of the community and long-time wonderful brand. One wonders why they didn’t make the effort? Would you have lobbied for that bill?
A friend tells a story about Kodak. Apparently, they had 59 buildings on the site that made film. As the film business started to shrink, the obvious thing for Kodak to do was to shrink as well, to reduce overhead, to become more nimble. The CEO said, “look out at those buildings and answer this question for me: How many steps are involved in making film?”

Back in October 2009, blogger John Walkenbach noticed that the Kindle price — currently $139 — was falling steadily. By June 2010 this rate was so consistent that he projected that by November 2011 the Kindle price should be $0. Last summer, author Kevin Kelly asked Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos about this projection.
According to Kelly, Bezos “merely smiled and said, ‘Oh, you noticed that!’ And then smiled again.”
